I guess getting Australian nationality is easier than getting indian one . If he is good then forgotten his Australian nationality become eligible play for India after retirement get back your Aussie nationality
Rules for naturalization have been discussed many times recently due to Danny Batth, Michael Chopra. 5 years after OCI card is the rule of thumb. It depends on case to case basis. http://indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in/acquisition1.htm
He will be 28 by then . When I was preparing for govt job I read somewhere that an oic or pio card holder can get nationality by staying a year from date of application .
@Ashkaul5 Read the link I posted above again. It is from Ministry of Home Affairs. PIO card has been merged with OCI card. One has to spend 5 years on OCI card first and also 1 year in India. It is not about sports- sports or non-sports rules are same for citizenship.
Michael Chopra has been blowing this trumpet for many years now and it looks like he has still not understood the rules.
