Obviously they are considering it, they are considering bloody Mongolia and Pakistan as well. They only teams that know they are in the Champions League are the countries in it this year except for Thailand, Indonesia and somewhat Iran (could lose one spot). All the other countries are being considered as well and a final decision wont be made till November. It is exactly the same as they did in last year as well.
In the end I dont see us getting Champions League, specially if the AIFF start that stupid IMG League which will make us fail almost all criteria and eventually lead to darkness. Heck even if we dont start the IMG League I still feel it wont happen. Just because Dempo, Pune etc are all professional does not matter, we need the whole league and hello, ONGC, Air India. We managed to pass before with these teams but the criteria is a lot more stricter and I think the only reason we were allowed in the AFC Champions League Qualifiers before was because of that "Asian Football Confederation 10 Pro-Leagues" thing in which India was a part of. AFC decided to squeeze us in, knowing full well we would not make it and eventually they just gave up with India which I am happy about. We are not ready for AFC Champions League. We have to earn it as a league and that is why I like how the AFC does the Champions League. We do it the UEFA way than there is no incentive. We need to earn it.
AIFF tech committee hasn't met for three years: Mohammed Habib
NEW DELHI: At a time when Indian football is struggling to come to terms with the decline in rankings, former India international Mohammed Habib has accused the AIFF of making its much-hyped technical committee defunct.

This is just amazing. If it was me I would just post the invitation on FB, record the conversation with AIFF and make it available on Youtube as proof.
