A second attempt by IFA, this time on their own. Ten teams in the districts, ISL style. Let's see how IFA pulls it off, knowing their history of bungling.
Each team will have 6 footballers from their own district. A maximum of 4 foreigners can play for each team (No mention of marquee players). Games will be arranged on home and away basis for 21/2-3 months. The organizers intend to start this league after the I-league ends in March so that it can end before next season's CFL begins. The reputed players of Kolkata can also represent their own districts in this league.
The blueprint of the League---Advertisements would be issued in newspapers seeking franchise teams in different cities of West Bengal. The organizers will have to pay ISL style franchise fee. The organizers would earn money by organizing home matches and selling tickets. The teams would also get a part of the money accrued from the league's title sponsor and TV ownership rights. The IFA secretary wants to ensure that the franchises do not run on losses. The IFA would soon enter into an agreement with an event partner for the organization of the league.
