    12. Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune: The venue will require maximum upgradation, which is estimated to cost roughly Rs 37 crore. It has been picked to host matches up to the Round of 16 stage

Its not going to be selected anyway. Max 10 will be selected if India gets the nod. Pune & Thiruvananthapuram/Hyderabad won't make the cut.

@indian_gooner: You do not understand. Most of that money will be required to exorcise the Ghost of Balewadi and ensure that it is banished from the corridors of Indian football for ever B) :p

    12 venues are not needed.

Australia did fine with 5 stadiums in AFC Asian Cup 2015

@munna219777 That was just 16 teams.
UAE was the first time with 24 teams, they used 8. China plans to use 10.

They will take Land and build a new stadium I guess ?

Mumbai already got Cooperage stadium, Andheri Stadium.
Andheri is good enough for International Friendly. Cooperage for I-league (beautiful ground in my opinion).
D Y Patil will organise only high profile events Cricket, music concert  U-17 world cups,

New Kharghar / Panvel  stadium will be PPs legacy to Maharashtra .

A good cluster can be developed Ahmedabad - Bombay - Poona  with multiple stadiums and training grounds.

Lack of training grounds and limited availability means that Chennai / Bengaluru will not be considered.

International airports / Hotel is another criteria.

Upgradation of stadiums will help boost infrastructure for ISL, I-League.

The new one in Khar Ghar, Panvel is actually the Centre of Excellence in Mumbai Praful Patel has already announced. The planned capacity is 40,000 and it will have four training sites along with it according to the bid book.

The problem with Navi Mumbai / Panvel is that its way away from the main city and residential areas. Andheri is perfect for people in Mumbai, but not Navi Mumbai. Cooperage is in South Mumbai and its not a residential area, but I like the stadium. Can feel very close to action. Good height to te stands too.

Also, I hate watching matches at Andheri. The stands are very low (same as pitch level) and you can't see anything going on in the other end. The middle section with seats is better, but its VIP area therefore not affordable.
