    As per wiki, all 12 WAFF nations are participating.  They have sent invite to India,  Thailand & few other nations.  Most probably, 16 team Tournament. If it is 12 team Tournament,  we might be only a standby team.

    How many competitions are these Middle East nations playing. There's Gulf Cup going on, there's WAFF Championship and then there's FIFA Arab Cup.

    Also, nowadays there's a clear bias towards the West when it comes to AFC competitions.

    What a waste of money. Could have invested that in longer youth leagues. 

    Now it'll be used to send AIFF officials on holidays to these countries

    That money is spent because this batch will be playing Asian cup in May. So far they have been playing BFC juniors and desperately need international exposure
