  • <font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Well that should be put into the mentality of the players through there youth AND FROM THERE COACHES!</font><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">I would like to think of this from Arsene Wenger's philosophy. When he came to Arsenal it all changed. The food was changed, the training changed. He did all that and that changed the way Arsenal played forever because Arsenal before Wenger was a long-ball club. Wenger came and wanted to make them a passing team but he needed to change the physic of the players. New nutrition was needed and the way the players trained was changed. Also players were punished if not fit. (Example: Ronaldo, the fat one) He got lazy at Milan and they did not take that shit so they sent him away to Brazil after he did not change. Again he did not change and he had to retire. His weight really took a toll on him, just watch his last few games in the Brazilian League. He was shit.</font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Point is that this is the reason we need Academies. Those who say we dont are not looking into it, the players should be taught at a young age. Also the coaches should take an initiative to force the players. As soon as pre-season starts you get your players fit. Of course some I-League clubs cant do that (I wont go into this) but clubs like Pune, Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, United Sikkim, Dempo should be able to do this. </font></div>

<br><div><br></div><div>I smell a lawsuit coming Chirag's way. Now can we all see the evils of this company! I like the name Viva Kerala and I love the state and know that if it can be marketed right things will happen but Chirag fucked shit up and some people, even on here praise them for saving the club. They did not save the club. In fact payment is still left.</div><div><br></div><div>Also I know when I suggest we bring foreigners from the 4th Division of England people say I am crazy but if a player at Chirag can be payed $6,500 a month then a 4th Division in England would love to come to India. The salary in 4th division of England is $1,250 a week. That is $6,500 a month. They would love to go from that to India. Hmmm, this article may just have gotten my approval. :)</div>

Well, before one can jump into calling it a case of sour grapes, the way Chirag kerala started the season in the Fed cup was an eye sore to say the least, there was absolutely no combination whatsoever, as if the players did not even know each other, considering it was not an entirely new unit, most players have played for at least a couple seasons together for the erstwhile Viva Kerala. Give or take, the Kerala based club management started very slow and it took Pakeer Ali well beyond mid season to even get the team into any shape or form whatsoever. Even late into the season, the players did not seem a very committed lot the way they conceded four goals against East Bengal second leg game after Sunday gave them a early lead. </div><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "> </div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">The owners have been pretty disgruntled by the lackadaisical approach of the Kerala based management and this payment stop measure is just a way to vent it, i suppose.  Chirag, the owners never had any such issues all three years they were with United Sports, so why all of a sudden now ?</font></div>

<br><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>But, the question is "Will the madness of the Kolkata (i-league) derby be recreated in other metros"?? I suggest to have a offseason derby matches in metros for popularity of both the clubs and best of Indian football. And not to mention this will also help them to get fit for next season!!</div>

<br><br>It will, for sure, during those days of Rovers cup and Durand cup in their full glory, the derby would attract a full house. These four cities should seriously come back and join the bandwagon, Maken's doing a great job by flagging this off in the NCR.<br>
