Well hopefully with the recent events with player contracts and stuff, we see players being payed their "value". Hopefully the salary caps helps as well and getting rid of things like the auction so guys like Rino Anto are not overpayed.
I know Sony Norde had interest in the A-League but his salary is way to high in India... he would be among the better payed guys in Australia and his quality is nowhere near that.
I guess we in India tend to pay footballers beyond their real value because football here is insulated from international football. We wrangle with so few quality footballers and the price heats up within its confines. The more we open up, the more the peak plateaus down.
Ian Hume was paid almost 4 crores by ATK last ISL, is the Spanish second division club pays him the same? I highly doubt it. The over paying stuff is not only isolated with iLeague clubs.
so happy to see India developing as football power house in world now we need neeta ambani to be next prime minister of India and give birth to developed nation
well don't blame players if they reject offers they earn more here get to live along with family why need to go to a place with half salary with diff people around
Former AIFF vice-president Vilasrao Sardessai dead Sardessai, 77, was the first ever Goan to have been elected vice-president of the AIFF. Sardessai had also served in the Goa Football Association in various capacities including as president, displayed his organisational capabilities during the Jawaharlal Nehru Cup held at Goa in 1989. Sardessai had been the manager of the Indian football team, and was one of the chief architects of the National Football League. He was honored with the Jivabadada Kerkar Award in 1992 for his contribution to football. Sardessai was elected as the GFA president in 1977 and continued in that capacity till 1981 serving two terms. He was elected president of the GFA general assembly in 1990 and continued in that role till 1993. In between he headed the technical council of the GFA. Sardessai served as the AIFF vice-president for three terms from 1984 to 1996.
Iain Hume 4 crores? is that some kind of joke? He rejected kbfc because they failed to fulfil his 100 000 $ demand. ATK paid a bit more than that.(Hume first season was paid around 30-35 lakhs) If Postiga himself being paid 6 cr,and borja 3 cr with all the budget constraints dont see how players like Borja Gavilan Nato Doutie Valdo Lekic Tiri fit the bill then :P
