Mohammedan SC appoint Ranjan Chowdhury as new coach
Abhishek Ganguly| TNN | Dec 31, 2016, 07.28 PM IST KOLKATA: Kolkata side Mohammedan Sporting Club, on Saturday, unveiled Ranjan Chowdhury as the team's new head coach for the forthcoming Second Division League 2016-17. This was announced at a press conference held at the Mohammedan Sporting Club tent in the city.
Mohammedan Sporting Club have been placed in Group B prelims of Second Division League along with Southern Samity, Neroca FC and Hindustan FC. They start their campaign with a match against city-rivals Southern Samity on January 21, 2017. This will be followed by another home match against Neroca FC on January 27 before Mohammedan Sporting Club play their first away game against Hindustan FC in New Delhi on February 5.
Chowdhury certainly has a tough job in hand as there is not much time before the tournament begins. "I think I will have 15 to 17 days of training before the tournament begins. And, if I consider two hours of training per day, that will be around 34 hours of training in total. It is certainly a challenge but I will try as hard as possible to get the best result for the team," he said.
Chowdhury will begin his training session at the club ground on Monday.
What a shame. does this rattle PP & co? Obviously not. They went on record that they are not bothered about top clubs folding, so one or two players quitting doesn't matter to them. They have the eyeballs. And eyeballs mean cash.
