<br><div><br></div><div>Its the salary cap in MLS that causes these low (but very livable) wages. Right now the cap is set to an estimated $3,000,000 meaning that no club can exceed that amount (Just for comparisons sake, Wigan Athletic had a wage bill of an estimated $60,000,000). Of course, we also have the marquee rules which allows us to sign players where only $300,000 of their salary count towards the cap (Example: Theirry Henry earns $3,000,000 in New York but the Red Bulls only pay $2,700,000 of his wages while the league pays the rest). But ya, that is why the salaries are lower than they could be and why we struggle to keep Americans (I think Tim Ream earned 30 times what he got in MLS when he signed for Bolton in the Premier League).</div><div><br></div><div>Depending on what happens when the TV deal is renewed in 2014 the salary cap could go up to $5,000,000 with more "marquee" spots but ya, you will probably never see an soccer player in the US making NFL or MLB wages (Rookies make $300,000 in baseball while the best can make $10,000,000-$20,000,000).</div><div><br></div><div>But this is what happens when you run a sport that has only taken off recently in the country like 3-5 years ago.</div>
but in 2011<div>its changes to</div><div><br></div><div>subrta pal- 1.1 crore from club</div><div>gouramangi-1.05 crore from club + 65 lakh from aiff</div><div>sunil chhetri- 90 lakh from club</div>
Bloody hell... notice how this surge happens after we play in the AFC Asian Cup. We were shit there but I guess playing against the likes of Harry Kewell will earn you well.<div><br></div><div>30-50 lakh is where we should ideally be in terms of salary. Its not horrible really.</div>

<br><br>Cost of living in USA is very very high. Cannot just convert dollar to rupees. Purchasing power parity is a better way. A person earning 1000 dollars is equivalent to what we get in 10000 rupees in India-not 60000 rupees. high tax, medical care, transportation, insurance sucks up all the money.<br>
