Eh, in my opinion, it varies. It all depends on what the long-term plans of the Indian Super League are. Sure, IMG-Reliance are a bunch of idiots and crooks but so far, from what I have seen and read, the owners of the Indian Super League teams seem to be dedicated to the cause. That to me is very positive. If the owners are dedicated then you can bet that they will do what they can to make the league a popular league which can deliver the profits and development Indian football needs.

As for the league itself, in the long-term, if they make the league a 6-8 month league in the future like the Delhi Dynamos owner said they wanted to then there might be some hope. Also, if the league starts youth development (ISL Youth League) then that would also be good development. Also if the league is dedicated to parity then I am sure the league could be successful.

Now, if this league remains a 2-3 month league based only on the bollywood stars then ya, this is not good for us. However, I do not think that will happen. This is a league which has clubs owned by rich businessmen who are rich for a reason. They know how to be successful and I am sure they will make this league successful as well for Indian football.

Is this the same @arsenalfan700 who was against ISL. But seeing the signings so far and the long term development plans of ISL team owner( 6-8 months league which I am pretty sure is gonna happen in 4-6 years cause these people have money. LOTS OF MONEY. and Money talks), seems like the tides have turned. :D

"In the four years that the IMG-R has partnered with the AIFF, Indan football has not moved an inch forward."

Disagree with this statement. I think a lot has changed in last 4 years in all spheres. We had the best I league season last year. U-16 sides are doing ok. Infrastructure is kinda being developed.
    Personal opinion.

beest I_league season becuase of collective efforts of I-League clubs and AFC strict guidelines for Club creteria. AIFF and Rel IMG Contribution is Zero. Why I-League was looking cool - purely becuase of addition of new teams like BFC, Shillong teams which bought back audience to I-league. If ISL provides the best platform for Indian football i'm OK with it but Surely slow poison injected into I-League which will kill Goan domination in National league and existing unstable clubs will perish.... sorry to say this but this will happen.

@Cooligan I mentioned a few pages back that I changed my stance to completely against to somewhat either/or.

And ya, a lot has happened in 4 years but AIFF and IMG-R have barely done much.

why you guys are worried about signing? if they fail to field 11 players they will make bollywood stars play...in GOAL movie john abraham and arshad warsi were good and boman irani proved to be good coach...marquee probably...

I-League would have been better if we had a better group partnering AIFF then IMG-Reliance. IMG did little else then trying to peddle their black money tax scam ISL league. They rather spoiled the entry of proper Corporate Clubs. IMG-Reliance also confused fans of Indian football by peddling false dreams that Messi is coming, Beckham is coming.

Looks like the Mumbai team will be known as Mumbai City FC

Now... other wiki guys... please, do not change the name yet as nothing is official. I mean, it is pretty much done but wikipedia is supposed to be updated when things are actually OFFICIAL.
