Random players are our way of talking about those African or Brazilian foreigners who come to I-League and when you look them up on google you find nothing about a past... they literally just came from nowhere. Like Edeh Chidi or Penn Orji.
However, in this case random foreigners would be players who are coming from random countries like the Czech Republic. We do not know who these guys are or how good they are.

So, as expected, anti-ISL people have started talking about random foreigners. What is shocking is their transition. From saying that ISL is gonna have 40 year old oldies to saying that these are random players. Well, football is a global sport. You don't need to know each and every player. And if you were expecting big names, you're acting foolish. Anyways these players have played in leagues better than India and are also better than our current foreigners in I-League both technically and game wise. Hope that they adapt to the conditions.
@ArsenalFan700 AFC Champions League prize money for winner may look low but then we should note that how much they spend on clubs. Each club gets 30,40 50 and 60 thousand dollars travel subsidy for every away game. Tickets and Hotels are paid for. Champion gets 1.5 million dollars but there are lot of prizes for winning even 1 game in Group Stage. Clubs keep the gate money from the games they host in 70:20 (Host/away) format. Each participating club benefits financially. You get money for just participation in AFC Champions league from Group Stage onwards. Overall Prize money if you add all of them is not that bad.
@coolgagan When are these "not random" and "not Forty" Foreigners expected to come to India???
I mean, I don't know the exact numbers but I would not be surprised if there is more money up for grabs overall in the J. League than the AFC Champions League.
As for the foreigners.... what did you expect? I mean, I just looked up all 49 and from what I saw the trend is this:
- If the player is over 30 years old or close to 30 they have played regularly at one point in a top league.
- If the player is young they have played at the usual level of regular I-League foreigners... maybe some a little better than others.
draw a match - 20 thousand dollars win a match 40 thousand reach round of 16- 50 thousand reach quarterfinals- 80 thousand Semi Finals 120 K Finals runners up 750000 Dollars Then add all subsidies and gate money
I But I agree, J League is more lucrative then ACL. Even K-League. Continental Tournaments have limited appeal and that applies everywhere.
