@Somesh Nabi took the bait of ISL-some responsibility he has to take too. How can a player be so naive. It will be interesting to see that how many Indian players will again sign up for that league after last year's fiasco. Once bitten, twice shy.
I am not comparing the 2 leagues to India, I understand the culture changes and they understand that between the two as well which is why if you look hard enough you will find many differences between them.
However I can not say I am excited for the future of Indian football. I still dont know how people can look at Dempo, East Bengal, Churchill Brothers etc and say they can be hopefull. These clubs will either push us back or just make us remain where we are. Bengaluru FC are doing well but lets be honest, this is 8,000 fans. For now this can be considered amazing and great, esspecially after how bad HAL were but eventually 8,000 won't be enough and questions could be asked... basically, what is the potential and how big can they get? Can they even maintain 8,000?
The AIFF Academies are a question mark still. We still do not know how good these guys will be and if they will even be better than the I-League players we have now. I mean, we see results like 2-2 against SESA and I am expected to be happy!
As for Shillong... with cheap ass tickets this is what I expect. As for the teams, lets see when they will be out of a corruption before calling them professional.
Again, we are dead. Unless there are some massive reforms then Indian football will remain dormant or subpar which is a shame.
For last 3-4 days, journalists doing PR promotion for ISL are keeping quiet. What happened?? They have run out of names- Shahrukh, Salman, Sachin, Ganguly, Crespo, Saha, Yorke, ??? Thierre Henry coming??ha ha ha
Indian Super League should have a revenue of $4 Billion. It should challenge India's cricket IPL and top european leagues such as English Premier League and Bundesliga. It is possible because there are millions of football fans in India alone but prefer top class european style football.
Not possible only retired star will play isl...maybe park ju sung can come but i dont see anyone else klose drogba will retire aftr wc...so finger crossed
I league is like now robert de niro acting in raging bull in 2014 versus isl like watching mr bean in the raging bull in 80s.. Dont know which one will be better..
NDTV has pasted this image. They desperately want to somehow mix Football with cricket stars.
So I think that ISL is going to be some masala tournament- Ranbir kapoor, Ganguly, Tendulkar. Some retired footballers, some NGO. May be even Baba Ramdev.

Where is Football in the news. The whole article is written to do PR for Tendulkar so that he stays in Headlines.
