A lot of backroom deals emerging in the "bidding" process. Certain people were promised franchises by Praful Patel and they got them. JSW were told that SUN group had been promised the Bangalore franchise and therefore they shud withdraw their bid ! Also the only 2 I-League club chairman who sit as VP's of AIFF had 1st hand/ advance knowledge of the whole procedure and thus ensured they got their investors etc in order. Lets hope the ISL doesn't become juat a money laundering league given its lack of transparency
They are trying to recreate IPL Model. I was listening to coaches like Jonty Rhodes, Allan Donald in IPL that how whole team got together just 5 days before the match and it is impossible to do the same thing in Football. Old retired foreign players and some coach get together for their franchise 5 days before ISL and then how will they play for their Cricketer or actor owner. It will be a big embarassment!!!! or it will be cancelled at the last moment.
People call IPL also as inidan paisa league as it as all been about money.... similarly people will soon start calling ISL as indian superstar league where film stars or former football stars will all try to see their superstar status checked....
@munna219777 dont worry this leagues isnt for the players to show how good a player they are but it will be about how good a fan support they have... so it would run and somewhat give a decent chance for IMG-R to recover all their investments and profit too
I just want to know how the ISL will show Indian players differently than I-League. If users here are correct then the reasons people don't watch is because the Indians look like village players... well, it is these same Indians who will be in the ISL so will the ISL also be village football but with glamor?
But then wont the foreigners not be much different. The foreigners will be free agents who could not even get onto a team in ANY other country. Technically the lowest of the low.
Man, this is just screaming village football for EPL fans.
