Pierre Tillman, who was released by Chennaiyin FC last weekend has served a legal notice to the said Indian Super League (ISL) franchise.
According to sources in the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the player’s agent - Carl-Johan Fransén – sent copies of the legal notice to the Indian Super League (ISL) and the Indian FA on Friday.
It is believed that the player was on a $50000 wage for a period of three months and the agent has claimed that his client has been “subject to untold hardship and harassment.” It was further mentioned that the player was “treated with discrimination and hostile attitude.”
Since October 14th 2014, Tillman has been asked not to train or even interact with the Chennainyin FC squad.
“Given that the player has been released, he has been asked to leave the hotel premises, as per the legal notice. The agent has further claimed that Tillman has been abused, ill-treated and subjected to continuous, physical, mental and emotional harassment by the club.
“The notice also stated that should the club not pay the amount within three days of the receipt of the notice, the matter will be taken to FIFA to resolve,” informed a source from the AIFF to Goal.
However, the AIFF stated that they wouldn’t intervene in the matter if the player hasn’t been registered by the club in India or that his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) has arrived.
“The agent has filed his complaint but we will only have a say if the player is registered using FIFA TMS. Otherwise, it’s a matter between the club and the player, which can be resolved by FIFA,” the AIFF official further revealed.
It is reliably learnt that Chennaiyin haven’t registered the player using FIFA’s Transfer Matching System (TMS).
Chennaiyin FC officials chose not to comment on the above mentioned issue.
