Somebody tell me that the ISL is joking about the attendences at Goa. It was packed to the reafters yesterday. Just look at the people standing near doors and along the alleyway. It was somewhere close to 25000.
I don't think they are joking. 18,000-19,000 is what the reported capacity is at the Fatorda Stadium and the attendance's are basically 100% full to capacity so I don't see any lies here other than the capacity must be bigger than it actually is.
Also, don't be completely fooled. When I am at the Emirates it always looks like it can fit 80,000 people, instead of the reported 60,000. Red Bull Arena looks like it can hold 35,000 instead of 25,000 in person.
What is the official capacity after Bucket Seats were installed at Fatorda Stadium? I remember crowd close to 27000 long time ago at this stadium for One Day Game of Cricket India vs Australia (April 2001). But I was wondering whether Bucket seats have reduced the capacity to 19000?
Some seats are left empty-behind giant screens, VIP Areas, Ambulance/Fire Brigade/Police/Volunteers area and some part of stands is left empty just in case of any stampede, it will releive the pressure.
My friend that is the reported capacity. After bucket seats installation capacity was reduced to 24000. And for ISL, 21000 tickets/passes are issued. But what about the thousands standing. Somebody is goofing up somewhere. I hope the stands are designed to take this extra burden. And all this rush leads to commotion and spoils the experience.
Well keep in mind that attendance is based on tickets sold, not who is actually in the stadium... so perhaps some people manage to get in without paying.
It seems some people with tickets were left outside because the gates were closed. These guys allowed people without tickets in at 18:45. But could not control the crowd flow. So they were forced to shut the gates leaving ticket holders outside.
I remember FC Goa being at the bottom of the table, and being heavily criticized by some of the IFN members. Now as they move up the table, more action is seen from particularly @Domnic Keep it up!
It would be nice to see Chennai vs Goa in the final.
What I notice, some teams who get into the top 4 after some good performances in the earlier and middle part of the tournament find themselves in the bottom. I feel any team between 2nd to 7th (from the table) can still reach the semi-finals. Never seen a league like this one.
