With all these developments around, it seems that in some 3-4 years I league will seem to be redundant..... All I league clubs will be given the opportunity to be a part of the bigger league provided they fulfill the criteria set by IMG or they can shut their shops....and mind it no i league club can resist this... We all saw how i league clubs had to bow down before IMG previously. TOUGH DAYS AHEAD FOR I LEAGUE CLUBS. THEY ALSO CANNOT DIGEST THE FACT THAT ANOTHER NATIONAL LEAGUE CLUBS ARE MAKING MORE SUCCESS AND MONEY THAN THEM.
And this isl will not help our player. In every franchise there will be 6 player out of india and that also above 36 year oldies. We are already complaining about the 4 foreign players in the I-league.
@coolgagan ISL is described as a personal or private issue of Indian football by FIFA. There is no relegation system in ISL, no AFC licensing criteria etc which is a must to qualify for AFC Cup or AFC Champions League.
ISL is only meant to improve quality of football in India by bringing in top quality players and coaches from other parts of the world which I-league clubs are unable to do so. Also these ISL franchise clubs will invest huge amount of money in upgrading football stadiums, grassroots programme with top training facilities etc.

As long as those teams can't qualify for afc cup or champions league I league will stay alive
