It is disgusting that Utpal dada's IFA is still undecided about the starting date of CFL Premier Division. They need to finish before 19 Sep (Mahalaya Day), with some matches likely to get affected because of rains...Utpal dada should have been more pro-active. Instead he is bent upon to prove himself as an useless IFA chief again & again. Saw a picture today that a lower division match being played with nets large enough to pass a horse. Yes Utpal dada can't look after everything but the way he covers his useless assistants (just to ensure he remains in the chair) is shameful. But then shame is a word which has been deleted some years ago from Indian Football Dictionary.
CFL Premier Division to start on 10th August...East Bengal to play in the inaugural match...MSC and MB to take the field on the next two days. Source: ABP
how is Churchill planning to balance GPL and ileague...anyone knows? Do they have the squad depth needed? Any news of Salgaocar/Dempo/SCG teams this season? Even Aizawl might have this issue this time with both Chanmari and Dhintar reportedly building strong sides.
If the CFL Premier Div starts on 10th. with EB taking the field on the first day, then the schedule should have been out at least a week before the starting date. IFA need to follow certain procedure while organizing a tournament. Every time they publish a schedule then change it 20 times to please big 2 or big 3 or unavailability of police. They have 38 days (10 Aug to 18 Sep, with no matches on 15 & 16 Aug) to complete the league & 45 matches to be played......if they don't start on 10th. then completion could be a real problem.
Is the AWES cup schedule out??? Mizoram is having independence cup tournament as a pre season to let the club sides settle down...IFA should have done the same.
Some great news coming!...Southern Samity, the Premier Division club, was thinking of withdrawing from the CFL because of financial issues and charges of money laundering...After the Sports Minister of West Bengal took them to task, they have decided to form a team as quickly as possible and play in the League...And they have lined up a number of who's who of Indian football...Leading the pack is the evergreen Yusif Yakubu, the 41 year old veteran of many a battle who has got his visa and is expected to arrive at Kolkata within 10 days...he will be joined by Echezona Anyichie, another stalwart defender...also expected to join are the 30 year old Khanthang Paite, who last played for MSC in 2013 and who now works as an Inspector of the Central Excise Department and the 34 year old Dipankar Roy, who used to warm the EB benches in the previous years...wow, Southern Samity the latest Kolkata club to provide a haven for 'golden oldies'
