The IFA has also settled on the dates and venue for the two 'mini' derbies. While Mohun Bagan will face Mohammedan Sporting on September 10, defending champions East Bengal are scheduled to take on Biswajit Bhattacharya's black-and-white brigade six days later. Both matches will be held at Kalyani and kick off at 2.45 pm.
Mohammedan Sporting 5-2 Peerless SC Goals...great goal by Sukhwinder Singh of Peerless SC (1st goal)...MSC playing very well after their first match debacle...hope they throw some challenge to the Big Two
Kamo is becoming a real superstar...what a screamer for the goal!! Btw customs have really impressed me with their play...with opposing teams playing deep...kromah is hardly getting space to use his speed
HT East Bengal 1-0 Railway FC, goal scored by Joby Justin in the 2nd min...chanced missed galore by EB,,,RFC goalkeeper and defender Abhishek Aich made some brilliant saves
Year passes by but the pictures remains same. Utpal Ganguly and the Big 3 happily messing the bengal's football year after year. last year Mohun Bagan and this year Mohammedan showing displeasure's over the timing of their matches. Both parties needed to decide first that are they really interested to organize this league or not.
The Calcutta Football League 2017 season to see a new drama as Mohammedan Sporting comes out with a new grief and has threatened the IFA by saying that they won’t be playing the two derbies against East Bengal and Mohun Bagan ahead of the much awaited Kolkata Derby on 24th September at Siliguri.
The Mohammedan Sporting officials are rigid on their standpoint that they would not play the game before the East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan match, as the Black Panthers are very much in the title race and are determined in not giving any undue advantage to the two heavyweights.
The Black Panthers have also written to The IFA that they don’t want to play. A Mohammedan Sporting offcial told www.xtratime.in , “This is not fair, we don’t want to play the game before the East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan match and have informed that to the parent body as well. Don’t forget, we too are there in the title race.”
