Sanjay Balmuchu, a young guy is tall and strong, should get a better look in. He hasnt played badly whenever given an oppurtunity.

@Soccerlover Mate how can you teach mindless players (defense) quality football? No SAF, Mourinho, Guardiola can help them. Also you tend to forget the bench strength of Bagan with respect to defense. They have good bench in attacking department but equally pathetic defense. It has been nothing sort of a miracle that MB is having one the best defensive record in I-league with such pathetic defense uptil now. Everybody expected MB to leak goals sometime in the league. Its happening now and with coach being away from sidelines is not helping the matter.

Pronoy has  been one of the better DM this season. For Bagan,a better choice than Sehnaj Foul Singh! Yes Pronoy did pick up cards regularly, but to be fair to him, a few of the cards he certainly did not deserve. Some of the referees did become biased against him towards the later stage of the League, given his penchant for picking up cards in almost every match from the beginning.

Now that MB is practically out of the race, it is very much expected that daggers would be out for Sanjay Sen, the fall guy. I, for one, believe MB's troubles are more for bad team building rather than poor first team selection. Who let go Bello Rassaq? Who recommended Luciano? A team is as strong as it's players. The know-all football committee has some answering to do. There shall be some ownership of responsibility.

A coach may have his choice of first team. One Kean Lewis or a Ram Malik wouldn't change the fortunes of this team, particularly when the problem lies in defence. The whole process of team building has to change.

Simply put you cant playbileague with the foreigners being close to 35. Replace glen with even someone like ullimas and Luciano with Min Chol...and this MB should have walked through this league.

For the last two years(from the time when Bhowmick took charge), the football committee of Satyajit-Shibaji-Compton along with the coach decides on the players primarily. To be fair to Tutu-Anjan-DD, I think there have been far less intervention from their side in the past 2 years, vis-a-vis earlier years.

Everyone knows how Bello played this time - so letting him go is certainly not a wrong decision (infact Bello almost fainted in one of the matches in Goa, as he cudn't keep pace with his opponents and was unable to retreat too!) Coming to defence  - it was solely Sanjay's decision of bringing in Gustavo by merely looking at YouTube video - how fucking ridiculous is that; a coach of a National League winner team only resorts to such measure for team selection! We all have seen what kinda treatment later Sanjoy meted out to this guy. Same with Aveska. And after all this fiasco when he saw that the I-League was supposed to start, he hurriedly brought in Shree Luciano (b'cos Luciano played in his team when Sanjoy was coaching Mohammedan),and we all have seen what sort of a clown Luciano is on the field. His only contribution being tugging at a striker's jersey in his own penalty box in a crucial game/committing unnecessary fouls in set piece situation match after match/charging at the referee with every decision that goes against him - which has been his hallmark!

Hence if Sanjoy has taken such important decisions which defies any logic w.r.t. team selection, he has to get the brickbats - which he rightfully deserves.

The failure of the foreigners is the sole responsibility of Sanjoy Sen.. He chose to sign two foreigners whose combined age is 72 in two positions which is the spine of the time..
Also having signed so many players in midfield the coach who is a defender himself should have scouted more players in defence

The bugger brought in Dudu and he proved himself whatever little opportunity he got in CFL. In a one-on-one situation Dudu is more agile and his strike rate is more than Glen. Glen may have scored 8 goals, but missed many - and most of the misses were almost from a handshaking distance, which proved to be costly. Also unlike Pierre Boya, Glen doesn't fall back to lend support to the defence (if not support, atleast provide numerical superiority). The problem with him was:

    1. Is arrogant - success(winning the I-league) went in his head and he didn't pay any heed to what others had to say.

    2. Those 10K masks made him even more overconfident and he wasn't focussed enough in the business end of the League.

    3. Predictable team composition (even substitutes that he brought in), irrespective of the opposition.

Oh fine, when MB poached Sony from Dhanmondi, he was a football committee recruit. And apparently when Dudu, Boya, Glenn and Aveska were recruited (via the backdoor or what?), the committee were in deep slumber. So the high profile committee does not have any accountability? No sir, the committee has to take responsibility for every recruitment, the can make suggestions or preferences. It is of course a different matter that Bidesh Bose, one of the committee members had shown scant knowledge of his rules of the game.

So flowers only for management and brickbats for the coach. Just fine. In true MB fashion.
