Don't worry for their remarks @Nagendra mate. Pity them for their amateur view. As for you guys who think Olympics are waste. There are close to 200 countries in the world. A single event at most has 50 participants. Only 30-35 countries get to showcase themselves in an event. Simple analysis will let you know how big it is to represent your country on the biggest arena for sports.

A big LOL to all the people who are saying that only medal prospects be sent and wastage of taxpayers money etc.. Are you serious?   :D

Here we are crying about Indian football team not playing against high ranked quality opposition to improve their standards by competing against the best. And when these athletes are doing exactly that, you are crying about taxpayers money. The politicians are openly looting your taxpayers money in scams while the amount spent on their training is fraction of what is being looted. Why dont you do something about that?

And by the way, these athletes have qualified on merit with fulfilling certain criteria. They haven't got quota places.

So let them represent India at the biggest sporting event in the planet and stop being negative and a hypocrite.

Guys- medal is always good, but qualification in Olympics is also no mean feat.

Greater contingent side shows overall improvement. Icing on the cake , how many medals we win. A lot of athletes are also participating for first time and they will gain much experience.

we are strong in shooting, wrestling , &boxing (in boxing only 3 qualified this time in that 2 are facing a tough draw) wait for the events to come up then decide we will medals  or not? in mens hockey we have chance of wininig atleast bronze because format of draw will be suitible to us(*we should avoid australia, netherland in quaterfinal)

We already avoided Netherlands .... they are in same group with us... so no chance of facing them in QF .... Semi-Final may be...

Definitely as u said... we need to avoid Australia in QF... and for that , we should finish in top 3...
