It is honestly not a bad team. Definitely feels different from the last batch but I feel somewhat confident with this group... but then you have the coach who is a complete buffoon.

Additions of Sandesh Jhinghan , Prabir Das and Pritam Kotal will strengthen the U23 defence

The GK department is weak ( as we know) , the  midfield should also be strengthened with Shankar & Siam returning after their AFC game

Other issue is , senior team playing 442, and all the Youth teams playing 433

U23 team is par with Tajikistan , Turkmenistan , Lebanon ...so no shit ....

Uzbekistan has a solid team, they have players who won AFC Youth championship and played Youth World Cups. They have prepared well unlike us, so the first automatic spot is gone.

Now lets talk about Syria. Even though they have so many off the field issues they have prepared their team well with friendlies. Physically they are very strong and overpowered.

The only advantage India will have is the weather conditions in Dhaka, so if there is any hope for India it has to be any of the above teams failing to adopt to the hot sweaty summer weather.
