The foreigners are better, the pre-season seems to be better, and even the Indians are somewhat better. Coaches seem to be better as well so we should have a better season for sure.
Sanogo is a top signing for NorthEast..Their best striker signing so far..Massive experience of playing in Bundesliga The guy has played 86 matches in last 3 season and started 80 of them and scored 35 times..Most importantly his last season has been good with 10 goals in UAE League..playing in the middle east conditions would help in India
Chicao has played for some of the best teams in Brazil..IMO he's past it..Very little game time in the last season..Also he's 34 is not of any advantage..Average signing to be fair.. Disappointed with the Brazilians in ISL..Most of them are pretty average..Delhi could very well end up as the team with highest average age..Like last year this year also they have signed a 39 year old!
The Brazilians are interesting for sure. Last season the guys who came on loan from Paranense did well. Gustavo and co. were able to take the ISL by storm almost. Some of them though, like Erwin, were not able to make much of their time here.
Now we are seeing more Brazilians who, while older, have played in higher leagues than last years Brazilians and they should be cheap as Brazilians usually are and the conditions in Brazil are not far off for Indian football.
Personally though I would rather the ISL teams look to make more loan signings from Serie A sides (Brazilian first division). They would be younger, cheap, and would most likely do well here. A guy like Crysan would do so well in the ISL. He dominated in the state league and while he has 6 caps in the Serie A, has yet to score or even get much playing time. He would be the perfect loan signing for the Indian Super League at 19 years of age!
That's the point..we should look to sign more younger guys in loan from Serie A A small stat i would give here..Except the marquees we have 14 Brazilians confirmed so far..Among them 3 of are coming from leagues outside Brazil..Of the remaining 11 not a single player has played in the Serie A last season..
