deserved win for EB, and it was expected as well. But yes ref could have avoided the red. Big game, not a serious foul, you dont kill games for such fouls.
The reason, why Sanjoy to go is not b'cos he lost 2day. In any case, the result(may be not the scoreline) was expected. The reasons why he should go :
1. Hs past records show he is a 6 month coach(joking)!
On a serious note:
2. Post I - league, he(along with Satyajit Chatterjee) was only posing with the trophy and success went in his head.
3. Started pre season much late ( last year Bhowmick started from 1st week of June); he got only abt 3 weeks of pre season, knowing fully well that for the CFL, Bagan would be playing with literally the "B" team; hence he needed to spend more time "building" the team.
4. Such pathetic was his preparedness that he did not have the first eleven in any place (infact he doesn't have it even now!).
5. He has never done justice to junior players' confidence (openly criticised Pratik and Tirthankar after the very first match, which Bagan drew); hence the juniors were/are consistently under pressure to lose their position, which does not augurs well for a junior team. Bhowmick and Karim are brilliant in blooding in new players and backing them.
6. Most importantly he talks big and is extremely arrogant. What has this got to do with his sacking? Case in point - selecting Gustavo using old CD and You Tube(which used to be the butt of the joke for Bagan's overseas players' selection earlier, when Debasish and co. used to select foreigners.) Having Samuel and few other foreigners during the preseason - thereby losing precious time in selecting a foreigner so that he could have got accustomed to the team's playing style.
7. As I have said in my previous post - one of the key reasons why Bagan won the I-League last year was the preparation overseen by Bhowmick and majority of their players were playing in CFL and not in ISL ; hence they were fresh, while most of the good players of other teams exhausted themselves after playing ISL; not did they have the motivation to play I - League which was devoid of fanfare and extravagance. Also in a short period, momentum is important which Bagan was lucky enough to encash upon.
Kean has positive intentions, has good temperament, was trying to calm down his team mates. He had couple of good runs and has ability but he needs to prove himself in I League or ISL.
I agree that Sanjoy may not be suited to take bagan forward....but I don't seen any real alternatives....ideally I would like someone like satyajit to stay as a sort of TD and coach with SEA experience. As this team also has to play in Asia
