India play very less number of international match. All the players stay with their clubs almost all the years and follow the playing style of their individual club AND we all know well where is our indian club football is.Forget about the AFC Champions League even we can not progress much in AFC Cup. So what can we expect from these players.Even if we remove Stephen and appoint a top class coach the result will not be different. What i wanna to say is the players are shit .They play football as a professional player (earn 1 crore per year) but still the quality is so poor that no one want to go to see the match. In golden era of indan football(1950-1970) the footballer were paid only bus fare for playing for their club(in Kolkata) and we know the quality football at that time.

I know every indian player watch European club football regularly and but i think they just enjoy the match like all the other spectators. They don't want to learn from the matches. Our players don't have good receiving , passing, shooting, heading .Then how they will play a good football. They should have basic quality of football.

So changing coach is just hiding they players(main culprit ).

@dhali then we can atleast get rid of a costly coaching staff and save money for other developments. put any local coach in that position

If the coach didn't have any option then I would have argued that the coach didn't matter. But when you do have young emerging players and you do not try them out in matches like this, what is the logic Mr. Coach? You wouldn't play promising new players in qualifiers, you wouldn't play them in friendlies. Then where do the new players emerge from.
And in the name of introducing new breed, you select the worst possible players on the recommendation of your equally worthless scout brigade. If someone followed Goal.com commentary, you could feel how pissed off even that guy was with Francis. Even my housemaid knows Francis is shit, the why persist with him?
SC could argue that he would not have played youngsters in the Iran match anyway so there was no point giving them playtime today. So what was the point in trying out 3-striker attack? Does he realistically think he could play that formation against Iran. Hell, even Nepal broke this defense at least four times with much ease.
This guy is here just because he gets paid well and on time. He has no vision for the team. Why else would he make selections based on what is being gossiped on a forum?

@rudra saving money should not be our target. Our target is playing god football.
If we wanna save money then stop all academies .This academies are shit(academy is only show piece to AFC & FIFA). No progress from the academy.
i believe that without academy we will play same football like today.

Between Wim and SC, I feel SC is worse. For, Wim the major problem was he didn't have any idea about Indian players. He was completely relying on Savio for that. But his final 11 was better among the poor players. Here SC, even with the knowledge of players selects squad with poor quality. And the worse being the first 11 is the worst of the called up squad. Tactically, I feel Wim was better but not suitable for Indian players with low quality. SC on the other hand not sure what is he trying to do.

They main culprits of indian football are the players. They don't know how much hard working is needed to become a good footballer. My advice to them is just go through the everyday schedule of any top class European Club academy. After that they will  know the way to become a good football.

@dhali you have already said our players don't have the quality so coach cant do anything, then why keep him or his staff? even if saving money is not our target, wasting money certainly is not.

@namewtheld but still he played 4-4-1-1 with three strikers, playing sunil as LM. don't see how playing three strikers make sense here. the player behind the frontman is supposed to be one of the most creative players in the team. he put jeje, who played most of the season on mohun bagan bench, and whose main talent is being friends with one of influential ex-footballers of India
