Mind he is not worth that much. Lets be honest, he does not care about India or the ISL. His agent sounded out several MLS, A-League, ISL teams etc. and in the end, whoever offered the most got him and in this case, it is Mumbai City.
He was good in Uruguay but nowhere near as good BUT if he does manage to bring in fans for Mumbai City and he actually does play and play well then I guess it would be worth it.
The league needed atleast one big name signing for marketting purpose. And MCFC has served that. I dont think Forlan will be a flop like Trezeguet or Del Piero. With the support Forlan will get from the quality midfield MCFC has at their disposal Norde, Matias, Vadocz, Forlan will still be a threat to most ISL teams' defence....
That is if he cares enough. Ideally he should dominate and Mumbai City, under this coach and with the players they have, should be contenders to at least qualify for the playoffs. I just want to see it translate to crowds so hopefully they choose to play at the stadium within Mumbai itself.
Who goes out? Easy to say Delhi Dynamos so far but one of FC Goa, Chennaiyin, and Atletico de Kolkata would also need to not make it. I know you will say FC Goa
