If Gurpreet wants to go back to a club in his home Stabaek wont hold back for a huge transfer fee Whereas if a big club like ATM negotiates directly with them, they will demand a big transfer fee.. So its easier for ATM to sign him on loan from ATK
Having said this, I have no clue whether ATM wants him or not as @7negi said
Please don't talk non-sense without knowing facts...
HIL is just 4 years old. It is more over like a mini-league which lasts for less than 2 months.. with HIL , do you expect India to win Gold Medal in Olympics... Countries like Germany, Holland & Australia are well established.. even Belgium, GB, Newzealand and Argentina are moving in forward direction including India..
After initiating of HIL, I could see improvement of our National Hockey team... Please check stats.. Atleast in Asia level.. we are doing good... Also if key players are not injured, we would perform better than 2012 Olympics.. what else do you expect from 4 years old league.. to improve standards every state and school needs to have passion on sports..not alone the national federation.. now-a-days we couldn't find proper ground in school.. let alone leave other infrastructure..
And regarding ISL... it is just 2 years old.. please give some time to IMG R... They are NOT fools to invest so much without expecting returns in long term... again people may say they have started all this stuff to get tax benefits... If Reliance thinking about tax benefits alone.. they can do several other activities...
ISL is just 2 years of old... but see the pros 1. Attendance and Good Marketing 2. Foreign exposure trips 3. Indians playing with quality players thus improve in confidence level..
I agree there are cons and some mess-ups.. but please give some time.. and don't expect miracles in 2 years of time..
I feel Nita's circus is aiming to become the chief rival yo balaji telefilms'. Its all about creating hype or hoopla and milking it to the hilt. Expect PP & ISL marketing team to milk this to the hilt as a major achievement like chetri & romeo Brazilian move....both played maybe less than 90 minutes in the whole year
If GK moves to ATM his playing time will suffer.
He should aim for a club in the smaller leagues in Scandinavia /eastern Europe...although I wouldn't mind seeing him in league which would be mass
OK..i think we need to understand the whole dynamics (basis the current trends and benefits - if at all there is any), which would give us a better perspective, as to how good/bad a franchise league is for a country like India:
1. Lets see how many Franchise Leagues are currently in practice in India (IPL, ISL, HIL, Pro Kabbadi League, IBL and IPTL); dont think there is any other sport thats left to be played in India! 2. Let us now assess as to how or whether sports in general have improved in our country with the introduction of the Franchise Leagues - and I guess, we would agree that its hasn't by and large, else our performance would have improved globally in these sports. 3. One may say that we have unearthed lot of talents in IPL and many may attribute this to BCCIs money clout to attract top International players and our domestic talents having the opportunity to rub shoulder with these Intnl stars; however the point is how many countries play cricket and India is either a Spain/Germany/Argentina/Brazil of football in cricket in terms of ranking; like the top football players ply their trade in these countries, so does all the global cricketers when it comes to IPL. But that haven't necessarily created a talent pool in Indian cricket - as T20 cricket cannot be a yardstick to measure/assess the potential of a cricketer for an longer version of the game. Hence I would say IPL is a a flop show in India( in any case TRPs are dwindling every year); On the flip side, Aussies, SA and England play better spin than they used to earlier and certainly their players have benefited thru IPL, but none of our players have! 4. Now the question is why are people(franchise owners) putting money in IPL? The answer to which is already available with us - shady dealings, shady owners, fixing by owners, Srini and the outcome being Mudgal Committee coming down heavily on BCCI. So thats almost end of story there. 5. People say ISL is attracting huge crowd. But the point is, is football still the sports which people loves in India - marketing or no marketing! Simply put it - if football was popular in India, the crowd wud have gathered to watch the sport - be it ISL or I- League - gimmick or no gimmick - as in Kolkata , where u would see an equally knowledgeable/soccer crazy fan all over - be it "nukkad" football, the famous Maidan football or Saltlake. They do not require the excuse (in the name of ISL or IPL) to watch football. Its a different thing all together, that AIFF has turned a blind eye to this base and in the name of popularizing the game , have been talking "money being the criteria" - while they doing nothing to promote grassroot level football in the country. 6. Coming to the other sports - yes we have improved a bit in Hockey (in terms of better and consistent performance, against Asian teams), while we continue to struggle against the super powers. Is HIL the reason for we competing better with Asian Teams is debatable. Additionally countries like Argentina, Belgium and New Zealand have improved tremendously in Hockey and they dont have such franchise leagues in their countries btw! 7. Now the most imp. part - as to why there is so much of franchise leagues being played in India ? We are a country, where we do not have long term investment plans on talents & the powers-that-be/administration knows whats the right time to rake in few mullahs - which is what they are doing exactly- either directly/indirectly! This is also the time when probably mobile handset devices(mainly of Chinese mfg.) have seen unprecedented growth in India and ahead of major players and they want to encash on this to gain a foothold in India( a Pepsi or a DLF need not and hence they have backed out) and hence its primarily them who are putting money in these events - and one can be rest assured that its not a long term/sustainable investment. Therefore the bigger question would be what next when these cos. run out of gas! Certainly doesn't make for a good reading...
Enough for your EB to fight for a top tier? If they had any balls they should have supported Scgoa and salgaocar to oppose the top tier plan. Worse is if a franchise fees is waived off thats enough for your EB to play fetch with IMG. So yeah you can pipe down with your "stats" mate.
Great points there sourav! However I disagree on ipl part. Back in 2007-8 the talent pool was very less or we didn't know about them because of no coverage. Ipl gave all these players a platform to showcase their skills and we saw a no. of new players coming through.the likes of Yusuf Pathan, Mohit Sharma, bumrah, pandya among others are all who wouldn't have gotten their chances this early if not for ipl. Also the money generated has been used to improve domestic competitions with broadcast for all domestic matches.
