after a great signing in Akram, its orji !!!! what a let down. MB management rarely ceases to surprise. They are competing with EB for mid season harakiri trophy.
These clubs have inept management. And its not about I-League vs ISL. Some of ISL clubs also have inefficient management.
Which takes me to my next point. Why is the management so bad?
My guess is that good talent doesn't want to associate itself with football in India. Management graduates from IIMs and other premier colleges, who can do hell of a job, will lunge onto top finance, consulting, marketing jobs without batting an eye for sports.
REASON: Lack of Money. And its fair to be honest. I don't know how much these jokers are paid at clubs to manage. But, why would someone from a top college drop the opportunity to earn 20 lakhs straight out of college (with huge loans to pay back).
And why is there lack of money. Well, we all know. Less we talk about it, the better it is.
It could also be about money! Akram, Watson wouldnt have cheap and they probably simply ran out of money for the 6th foreigner. I expect MB to field Kingsley, Watson, Konowaki, Dika and Akram in their starting XI.
MB's recruitments have definitely have something about money. The club is next to broke. So the officials would make a lot of noise about Duffy and the Brazilian striker, and take in the likes of Penn and Bidemi later citing exorbitant fees charged by the others. Plus, one would notice only those players are getting in who are comfortable with the cut money system, another glorious tradition of the Maidan.
