I don't understand the people who are writing article after article saying exodus of best players from IL into Isl .
Guys even if we merge Isl and il , IL clubs will not be able to buy best players . In this case also they will have to let go off better players to rich clubs .
Many IL clubs have decent youth setup so players will keep coming. In Indian football circuit there are only a handful of top notch players, rest are more or less of same level so I guess it wont hurt IL.
@ashkaul5, that is not true. if both leagues are merged (which is unlikely to happen ever), the league will run for a longer duration and that will put both sets of teams on level. It will be interesting to see what kind of foreigners ISL is able to fetch this given that it will run past the January window.
If teams are able to retain guys like velz , Alfaro , Jody , defedrico , leo , marcaleneo for this season and add players like Mendoza , Hendrix Ruiz etc , I will say ......
5-6 months away from home for a lot of these guys will be a big factor. Frankly The velez types (South American players who have played in Asia before) would be more likely
On the flip side we can look at mid level national players from the Middle East.
