    >>>>AGREE. Putting bucket seats is not enough. This does not even look like a proper stadium for god's sake. The tunnels inside stadium all suck. Those leading to galleries are even worse. Shit man. Just pathetic. Needs a reconstruction like JLN had during commonwealth games. When renovated it was top class stadium. Last I heard was that it has also not been maintained. False ceiling is breaking everywhere.  Water leakages are rampant. Seats are broken. All thanks to useless management.

    remember suresh kalmadi?
  • Will salt lake stadium qualify with such facilities for U-17 world cup?? Doubt it! It needs serious reconstruction. With bucket seats being placed, don't think stands are gonna be renovated properly.
  • ISL has exclusive contract with Salt Lake Stadium? So Calcutta Football league will not be able to use the stadium any more?

I have a question. I was reading Amrinder Singh's Wiki and it says he started out as a striker, but his coach turned him into a goal keeper because of his height. He's 6'1 which isn't really tall for goal keepers. Is it common in Indian football to convert tall strikers or players into goal keepers? Is that why we have tiny forwards?

Manandeep Singh , Robin singh , Sushil Kumar Singh , Abhishek Yadav ...to name just a few would be considered tall strikers....
I think the issue we have with our strikers is, they don't score goals !

Most I-League GK's in the recent past haven't been that tall....
Look at the top half of I-League last year...hardly ay 6 footers..:
    1. Pawan Kumar : SHORT
    2. Abhijit Mondal :SHORT ( Gurpreet played less games if i am not mistaken )
    3. Karanjit Singh : 6ft
    4. Laxmikant Kattimani : 6ft ( barely...maybe with his heels on )
    5. Ravi Kumar : SHORT
    6. Lalthuammawia : SHORT
