Haha, yep. But that was an American football field and they still hold games there (Pinstripe Bowl) but an soccer field would be bigger than that and thus NYCFC, a team with David Villa, Frank Lampard, and probably Andrea Pirlo, play on a field the size of a U14s field.
Can we have a ranking on the Infra used by the ileague teams. My list would be 1)PFC -Manjeri rocks 2) Joint Salgaocar/KBFC- both are sharing the field with a college. But have improved the infra to decent levels 3) Shillong Lajong- they have a separate training base too 4) Dempo/SCG- They are in the process of having an exclusive practice area and a decent gym 5)BFC- they still do not have a training base and are sharing the old Bengaluru stadium 6) RWC- Their website is not very informative, but from what can be seen on secondary sources, they are almost like the Dempo/SCG 7) KEB/MB-Pathetic, sharing a ground with hockey and cricket. No inhouse gym/ recovery areas like Steam etc. Worse their is no inclination to develop anything also to become more professional 8) MFC- they train mostly at Cooperage and the other ground is really bad. Again no move to develop anything better.
I am glad that there are people who know that KEB and MB have better training facilities than what I could gather from secondary sources. Please do enlighten. Forum open for others who have a better understanding of the infra of other clubs to also share please
Yes MB and EB used to share same ground with hockey and cricket many years ago, but now a days both grounds are improved, good grass and shape. EB has decent gym and cafeteria now. Have not been in MB tent for a while but EB looks decent these days. Even both improved their galleries too, EB constructed most of the gallery with concrete. Apart from the land being owned by Army and "EB / MB don't do anything" concept everything is fine mate.
Its very easy to praise a two years old club but just remember there were Tata Sports Club. Sungrace Mafatlal, Pearless, Mahindra, JCT, Amity United. For MNC's it all depends on mood of Board / CMD. If tomorrow someone new with love for Kabadi or Hockey comes the football club will simply be sidelined. You never know what is going to happen.
