And Rajiv Gandhi stadium.. As per wiki, it is 20k ... But to be under AFC norms , they might be need to renovate the stadium .. If in case they renovate seating, then it will be lesser than 20k

Today's Manorama newspaper has reported that Greenfield has signed in a partner to operate a 5 screen Multiplex. Also, AL Manama Hypermarket is set to open there as well.

These are really novel initiatives to make dead investments like a stadium profitable.

Now all they need is a proper tenant that can use the stadium. Indian Premier League should look to get a Kerala franchise again, world class stadium would be welcomed boost to the hurt league.

ISL could do the same but Kochi does its job as well.

Do they have a plan to host any Sporting event in that stadium? Opening /Closing Ceremony in incomplete stadium is the only achievement so far.
Free land now used for Market and Cinema.

Kerala Cricket Association has their own stadium now for Ranji Trophy. ISL uses Kochi.

Lets see if India NT gets opportunity? How much are they charging now?

NT team has played to full houses in excellent stadiums in even in small towns.

Til A decade ago Tata's used to organize Super Soccer annual event where NT used to play top European teams in pre season (I have seen PSV play)

We also used to have Rajiv Gandhi u21 tournament again hosted in smaller towns like Jamshedpur where India played quality opposition every year almost always to full houses.

Point here is we have eager fans in smaller towns each of which has a multipurpose stadium.

In our urge to make India a pseudo Europe we have just killed space for these towns and cities to have quality football teams.

Priya munshi reign almost looks utopian now.
