@IndianFootballFan, the statement applies to each and every city in India. All we have is athletic stadiums or cricket converts. We need proper football stadiums!
I know. I m talking about the Maidan. Instead of all these club tents, why cant they go for one single football specific stadium and a couple of practice pitches. It will also solve the attendance problem that EB/MB has at YBK.
Won't happen, have you ever been to the Maidan? It's Kolkata's only green zone, no one in their right minds will allow any large scale construction activity there. EB ideally should take over Barasat stadium from IFA on a long term lease and develop it with a natural turf. EB ground should be used for CFL, I-League U18 and U15 matches apart from senior team practices.
