After all if Kolkata has the 2 most supported clubs they should play in a great stadium.

Oh how I would love this to be reality.

    who wont love this???

The Indian Football Association, All India Football Federation, IMG-Reliance.

They still believe that a stadium with barely any seats, that always seems empty (makes 25,000 sound like 500) and which has a horrible artifical surface can still be a good Indian football stadium.

Reminds me of the New York Red Bulls when they played in an 80,000 seater for their first 13 years.

YBK will get bucket seats in the hole stadium,if, (a very big if) India gets to host U17 World Cup.

Okay. I can see that working. I would expect that the stadium capacity would be lowered to 80,000 from 120,000 as bucket seats take up more space.

So perhaps the atmosphere will get better plus the fans would be more comfortable. However you still have 25,000 in an 80,000 and as a person who has witnessed 25,000 in the 60,000 Emirates Stadium for Arsenal U21 matches it is not a great atmosphere. I mean, its better than currently but not sufficient.

Plus the pitch is still crap (the bounce) etc but I expect that to be fix if we get the U17 World Cup.

But I whould prefer 25k in 80k stadium than searching for a bigger stadiun for the DERBY.

That is 2 games a year. What about the rest? I understand 100% but I feel that perhaps East Bengal and Mohun Bagan could move to a more smaller stadium and then play the derby matches in maybe... Eden Gardens (not saying its realistic, just putting it out there).

If the clubs can build their own stadiums then its ok. But i don't see a point in moving to a smaller stadium owned by goverment.

  • I guess Salt Lake Stadium used to have bucket seats in the past. Someone commented abt that in this forum. Fans may throw the seats and it became safety hazard. Police is reluctant to give permission to hold games of Big 3 clubs in smaller stadium with stands closer as they fear stone throwing incidents.

Brilliant news!!! @Ashlesh I know you said that you want to see the Panjim clubs to move to Duler but if this report is telling the truth at the Fatorda Stadium then forget the Duler Stadium. Fatorda will be world class.

few of the dempo officials want to be in duler but all depend on others
and oscar bruzan coach of sporting want to shift in duler he will speak with sporting official once season gets over

I hope they deny the request (again, that is if Fatorda is as good as told) because we need good looking stadiums in I-League. If Sporting can clean the Duler then okay but Fatorda should be first choice.
