Harender Singh and Cedric Dsouza are the only two Indians who have FIH certification to be a Coach. Cedric had a big fight with HI (that time IHF) during 2002 World Cup. Cedric took Australian citizenship although he lives in India most of the time.
Harender singh is a long time choker too- 2000 Sydney Olympics we made a Draw against Poland and crashed out.
This year we have panicked in almost every tournament- Azlan Shah, Commonwealth, Asian Games.
God knows what will happen in World Cup this year.
Japan defeated Pakistan in other SF. So we will have a new champion in Men's Hockey at Asian Games. Malaysia or Japan. Funny thing is that as Japan qualify as hosts in next Olympics, Malaysia has qualified for next olympics as well for Hockey.
Guys,I feel spend too much time discussing about chokers like Kabaddi Team and Hockey Team because this is a multi sport event and not an individual event which is specifically dedicated to Kabaddi or Hockey
I feel,we should enjoy the success of our Medal Winners(Unexpected ones) specially in Athletics,where we have smashed the Asian Continent technically.
We have got 7 Golds(Marvelous Performance), and if and only if African Cichlid wouldn't have been there,we would have ran Riot and got around 15-16 Golds) if you have a look at our Silvers/Bronze in Athletics,almost 90% of them have been to Africans representing Bahrain and Qatar.
This shows and proves my point that we can now be termed as emerging Nation in Athletics.
3 Athletes based on their Asian Games performance and based on their age, can be termed as World Class Athletes.
Neeraj Chopra,Tajinder Pal and Hima Das.These Athletes with their Current Best can reach Top 8-10 of their Event.
There are many others like Anas,Dharun,Jinson Johnson,Manjit,Dutee etc who can reach atleast Semifinals at major World Events which is phenomenal and speaks volumes of our Progress.
Brilliant Performance by our Athletes,they have not only saved our Assbin this edition but also have given a phenomenal performance considering the African XI was here in Athletics.
An IPL sort of a league, if possible should be conducted as soon as possible to harness and create more talent because come 2022 Asian games these cheapterds(Qatar and Bahrain will import more Athletes which will further hamper our Athletics Medals).
why keep complaining about the African athletes all the time?? why cant we just go with the mindset that to be the best we have to beat them all..that's they way to a medal in the Olympics..why be scared if we see an African, let's just beat them for the gold
Our goal is to win Asian medals only or to make a mark at world level ?? If we cannot handle Qatar and Bahraini imported athletes, how will we face Nigerian, British, Jamaican, Canadian, American athletes?
At world level meet, in every lane, you will see a Salwa Eid Nasser !!! You are rattled by her at Asian Games but you will compete against 7 Salwa in Olympics !!!!
Both things cannot be true- we want to perform at the world level but we dont want to compete against them at asian games.
They have improved the asian standard and it has pushed us to improve our standards too. Better competition for us and it prepares our athletes for world events.
People here dont want Asian players in HIL, want India to move out of SAFF for better competiton and improvement. but are nervous with Qatar / Bahrain. They are also doing the same. Improving us with better competition.

Every Athlete is not a World level Athlete. eg)Sudha Singh has no chance of winning a medal at the Commonwealth Games,Olympics etc.This was her chance to be labeled as Queen of Asia but this has been taken away from her by an Athlete who will also not win a medal at the Olympics.
Similarly,Arpinder will also be not able to win a medal at the Olympics,World Championships etc.However,he has the chance to win a Gold Medal in Asia.Should his capacity and ability to win a Regional Gold Medal be taken away from him because Competition to him means no improvement because he is so far away from World Standard.
Think about it.The whole Idea of the regional games gets lost because it is not Olympics/World Championships.It is Asian Games,where Asians should be there.
