is that we have the best u20 players in our team and does our team
have the players from u19 league..i noticed that academy players we have
are from tfa only?
whether we have the best u20 is difficult to answer, India don't have
proper youth league, so how shall we judge them? The point is lot of u19
national team players have been promoted, so the system which brought
u19 players (actually, u14, 16 etc also), is continuing in such a way
that the best of them are nurtured. Obviously exceptional players like
brandon, who is in South Africa continues to train in SA.
No we haven't taken any of the u19 league players. many of them i guess
are continuing with their i league club and aspiring to get into senior
team, and getting players from clubs nowadays is not that easy. TFA
offers good players, so the best of them are here, u19 league is a not a
proper league, and judging players from handful of matches is not the
best idea.
what about the players of other academies?
At the moment, Arrows' have some 36 players, which in my opinion is more
than we need, so its better to narrow down on them. See, what we need
is a proper youth league, the kind of which @arsenalfan talks about a
lot. Arrows is 1 club, it can produce limited no. of players, so to
scout all academies etc., is probably out of arrows' realm, the main
focus is the players coming from AIFF's u16,19 system and some of the
TFA guys, and a few others from here and there
Yeah absolutely spot on about the fact Arrows lacked prolific striker. Even during first season, Arrows struggled early on, it was Jeje's superb form in the later half of season that bailed Arrows out. Also, many people would agree that to score goals a player has to have a self belief and confidence which normally lacks in young strikers. As rudra mentioned, Fela and Holicharan would obvious choice upfront, but they are far from the standards of Jeje, Mandeep, Robin, etc. Even in this season, I feel arrows have superb midfield in form Milan, Alwyn(CAM), Sarkar, Shildon, etc. Defence is ok (by Indian NT standard), but yeah it will be very difficult for them to stop likes of Odafe, Hernandez, Ranti, Ricketts, Rooney, etc (must admit mentioning Ricketts, Rooney in same breath reminds me of EPL).
IMO AIFF should have tried to get hold of Myron Fernandes or Romeo Fernandes from Dempo on loan. They are good players would have definitely help India in future.
@Ashlesh would be in better position to describe the quality of both the forwards and also Dempo's willingness to loan them to Arrows if given a opportunity?

That would be bad. Like Rudra says, Arrows has 36 players and plus they have there own players. The purpose of Arrows should not really be about winning but about nurturing young talent. Not everyone on Arrows will be world beaters.
may be aiff should have loaned some good performed players of last seasons u-19 league teams as even though they got call to main team their chances will be less in their respective club and also arrows would give them an idea on what their NT youth coach is expecting of them
