The below news is from UAE Fottball Association's website. They clearly saying India could have won the match.

India held front runners UAE to a 1-1 draw in the third
round of the current AFC U-22 Championship qualifiers at the Royal Oman Police
Stadium in Oman on Thursday. Jamal Ibrahim drew first blood for the boys in
white and Romeo Fernandes headed home the equaliser two minutes before the final
whistle.
Having conceded a goal in just the 9th minute, when Jamal Ibrahim
found the back of the net for the London Olympics bound side, India had to wait
until the 88th minute to cash in on their superiority in the game, as Romeo
Fernandes eventually headed the ball home to restore parity.
Having let in an
early goal, India immediately started applying the pressure on the Al Abyad,
with the trio of Lalrindika Ralte, Milan Singh and Pranay Halder tormenting the
opposition with their movement and work-rate.
By the time the referee blew
the half time whistle, UAE had survived seven corners and a close hand ball
call, and were glad to go into half-time holding on to the lead.
The second
half saw India yet again start on the offensive, with their opponents firmly on
the backfoot.
The Blue Tigers should have gone ahead when Tirthankar Sarkar
was presented with a great opportunity in the 51st minute. However, with the
goal gaping in front of him, the Pailan Arrows man headed narrowly
wide.
Sarkar did not get a chance to make amends for his mistake, as in the
69th minute he was replaced by Jeje Lalpekhlua, who was similarly wasteful with
a free header from a Milan Singh corner.
It looked like a day where nothing
would go right for India, before Romeo headed home in the 88th minute, following
a clever throw in by Vishal Kumar.
The Dempo midfielder then almost snatched
all three points for the Blue Tigers, when he ran clear of the opposition
defenders but was thwarted by the rival goalkeeper from just six yards.
That
proved to be the last major chance of the game, as UAE held on for a share of
the spoils

looks like uae u22 squad for olympics is different the one played india

If you look at the line-up card for the UAE against Australia and the one against India it is almost the same team. I think 5 of the guys against us were against Australia, something like that but ya, the core of the UAE U23 team did not play against us.

None of the guys on the UAE U-22 team will actually play in the Olympics....the best probables for the Olympics have already been selected and played a friendly in Europe against a club team on the same day that UAE U22 played India U22.

We should not overreact to the draw, it is what it is and is now the past. At the end of the day we did not get our desired result which was a win and we have to play at our peak to reach our goal of qualification in the next game. A draw should not be celebrated by either team, any team we play should be treated as another day in the office. I read about too many Indian football fans treating our opponents like they are the Spanish National Team. Our goal is a World Cup squad and to reach this goal we will have to beat any Asian team on a given day at any age level, for this to happen we can't give any country too much respect or too little respect. I think that we gave Iraq and UAE too much credit. I'm pretty sure that UAE is upset about the draw and Iraq is upset at not scoring more, while us fans are acting satisfied. I hope the squad feels differently, we must always remain hungry...

Yes. But that is too unlikely. If anyone could hold Iraq in this group it was us. But UAE may falter against Turkmens I think. Let us see what happens tonite. :-??
