Defending champion PV Sindhu failed to retain the title as she went down fighting against world No. 11 Beiwen Zhang of USA in the summit clash of India Open Super 500 at Siri Fort Complex in Delhi on Sunday.
Sindhu lost the final in three games 18-21, 21-11, 20-22 in one hour and nine minutes. It is the first major title for the fifth seed American.
European and english countries are finally winning against asians , previously sweden , denmark and spain and now usa coming in to winning fray , quite interesting that how asians could not even be in top 10 of football but europeans countries hv somehow produced players to match with asians , i mean is this because asia couldnt raise lvl? As europe did in football
also u r comparing team game with Badminton ... for football, we need 11 good players.. for Badminton, 1 or 2 players would be sufficient....
problem with Asia is sports culture... most of the Asian countries (mainly Indians) don't consider sports as a profession... even my relatives (elder people), in-laws play Badminton and they are even competitive.. but they never considered it as a profession... things are slowly changing now...
China is a super power in Badminton & Table Tennis. Only the players at the top will get opportunity to represent China. So some ambitious players leave China and they easily get citizenship of other countries which suit their professional career and opportunity to represent in Olympics etc. Beiwin Zhang was a Chinese player, didnt get much opportunity in China, became Singapore citizen for 5 years-there she had fight with her coach so USA is her thrid country of citizenship. Very ambitious parents of her I suppose.
American football is actually quite different from rugby in terms of the quarter back(the guy who throws to make plays) concept which is the key in NFL
