  • Well if he wants to make more than the obscene amount he makes now at Man Utd, China will suite him. On the plus side, language will not be a problem for him as he barely speaks any English anyway :D

China would make sense. MLS dont need him right now and China needs someone to increase the profile.

Question is which CSL side? It wont be Guangzhou.

  • He will not move btw. English footballer's struggle when they leave the comforts of their home, and only the desperate ones move.

Yep, Beckham was very desperate when he left. Only option he had was Real Madrid.

Roma were a joke....playing such a high defensive line.....inspite of the liability called maicon
  • Over the last 3 decades or so, very few English footballers moved abroad. When they did, often there was mititgating factors associated with it. You highlight Beckham? How about Michael Owen, David Bentley, Stan Collymore, Emile Heskey, Mark Hughes, Jonathan Woodgate or even Joey Barton. How did it work out for those guys? Even stars of the past like Law and Greaves struggled when they moved along with the likes of Rush. It is no secret across Europe that English footballer's struggle when they go outside. There are better players in the Championship than in the Seria A, but teams in Europe won't move fro them because they know the English players struggle.

Only a handful like Beckham  (who rode on his marketability to stay at Madrid and then get a move to Milan), McManaman, Hoddle, Lambert, Platt and Linekar and Bale over the past 25 years have gone abroad through choice and done well.

And I haven't even named the Antonio German's and Sanchez Watt's trudging along in the ISL.

So, yeah, only the desperate ones move.

  • Transfer news. Chelsea looking at Alex Teixeira and Jonathan Calleri, but there is no guarantee the deal for either can be completed in January. Calleri in particular has had interest from Arsenal, Stoke, Spurs, Roma and Inter too. Roma are also scouting Hector Vilalba and Internacional's Alisson.

I can't see Alex Teixeira moving till the summer but Calleri is a different story. Argentine season will be over by January so best time to move and it would not be much in terms of price for Chelsea.
