Liverpool's scouting has been becoming more and more clear under Jurgen Klopp as time goes on. The following players have been scouted under the German - Timo Horn, Loris Karius, Anwar El Ghazi, Leroy Sane, Marko Grujic, Reuben Neves, Neven Subotic, Raphael Guerreiro, Sam Byram while less frequently, Rui Patricio and Demarai Gray.
While Klopp has been giving every player in the squad every chance to show that they deserve to be at Liverpool beyond the summer, some of them are now in danger of being discarded if they don't start performing including Joe Allen, Simon Mignolet and Christian Benteke. Sakho will have a loan bid from Roma in January, Moreno's agent is pissing off Liverpool and whoring his client to Real Madrid, Coutinho will almost very likely have multiple bids for him this summer with previous interest in the Brazilian from Porto, Chelsea, Man City, Bayern, Atletico, Real and Barcelona. Daniel Sturridge will be given a separate training regime and will be managed throughout the season, but Liverpool will weigh up whether it is worth keeping a player who only plays half of all of Liverpool's games especially on 150K.
Demaarai Gray!!!!!!! Fucking love this guy! I have a lot of friends in Birmingham and they love him and everytime I see him you can tell he will make the step up one day!
Meanwhile, you mention Porto for Philippe as if that is even realistic haha Guy will stay IMO, even if you don't get Champions League. Klopp is the type of guy I feel who can create a good enough bond with players to promise them they will get in soon and they will trust him.
Is Sturridge on his last year of his contract? If not, he won't leave.
Porto "scouted" Coutinho earlier this year, but if he were to move, there is no chance of him going to Porto. Barcelona are expected to bid for him this summer.
Sturridge was given a brand new (and improved) contract earlier this year I believe and has 4 years to run on it. It is not rally a question of whether he WANTS to leave, but more whether Liverpool see him as worth keeping with a gigantic salary (only behind Milner who is incredibly the highest earner at Liverpool, thanks Brendan). Man City will be an option for Sturridge if LFC want to sell.
While Liverpool has had a long term interest in Byram and Gray, they may not move for either. Will Hughs and Dele Alli were other players LFC had a long term interest in, but chose not to move for.
Man City would be open to getting him as a squad forward. They and Chelsea are the only two clubs rich enough (and dumb enough) to get in squad players on gigantic wages. Man Utd is another, but Liverpool won't sell to them. Usually in situations like this, a performance based contract is negotiated (x number of games means 100% salary, x/2 means 75% salary etc.)
Meh. Fun league to follow on occasion. Domestic guys try hard, foreigners can be either quality or just as good as the Qatari players. Try to play direct football etc.
