He has hardly inspired confidence and was probably a wrong choice in the first place....his teams are rarely set up to play expansive football...Capello was sacked after he actually won the league as his style was not appreciated....
Thats Spain Politics. Real Madrid consider themselves rivals to two clubs- Barcelona and Athletico Madrid. if they are behind them and 3rd in Points Table, it is as good as last for them.
Real Madrid - Right Wing, Upper Class, Ruling Class Athletico Madrid- Worker Class Barcelona - Left wing and Civil war Rivalry
Losing to them means losing their identity for real Madrid supporters.
Not that surprising. The FFA are idiots and the A-League is not on free-to-air television but instead is on FOXTEL and SBS which are both channels that don't reach out to as many people as Channel 10 does for the BBL and the Women's BBL. The FFA have been taking the fans for granted and the football community for that matter, trying to pander to Rugby journalists for a long time, and finally it kicked them in the ass with last months report of hooliganism which was completely dumbfounded. This lead to boycotts by the supporter groups for a while and mix that in with the FFA wanting to get rid of the Wellington Phoenix (who are one of the best ran clubs in the league) due to various reasons which involve the AFC and replace them, not with a team in a new city like Canberra or Wollongong but in fucking Sydney... when they already have 2 teams. And that too also ignoring organizations who are ready to place a team in the other cities like Wolves. They also fucked around with the Players Association, who did not help themselves, and made a mess of the Newcastle Jets situation, both things apparently lowering the budget for marketing and promotion of the A-League. Also got the messed up situation with Brisbane Roar which is slowly being fixed and the Central Coast Mariners.
Now they are trying to fix things with rubbish conferences which don't help there image and also marquee players like Ronaldinho but no one wants him, especially for a quick 14 game stint.
However, with all that said, things will be okay in Australia. Football is still the 4th sport in the country after both Rugby, Aussie Rules, and Cricket. The women's BBL is in its first season and has a short-season which helps, as well as the best talent from around the world and again, the great TV contract. I don't even have to talk about the men's version. Football is still the #1 played sport among the younger generation, the Western Sydney Wanderers are only a year removed from winning the AFC Champions League and they are back to doing well again. Melbourne City are now starting to show ambition recently and will hopefully create a great derby with Melbourne Victory, just as good as Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers is. The potential is there for football in Australia, the FFA just need to realize it and go about it naturally without pandering to anyone or forcing anything.
Its amazing how costa played into heads of few.. he has his own way of getting things done.. His attitude might make him main enemy among opponents but should be a star for his team .
Though I liked the way ramsey just ignored him when he provoked ramsey.. that is the way you can get past these players

A-League struggling even after the Asian Cup triumph ? Pretty surprising

Guangzhou Evergrande sell record scorer Elkeson to Shanghai for ‘national glory’
In an unusual move, China’s Asian football champions have sold their Brazilian star to rivals Shanghai SIPG for as much as US$20 million
played three, won three, Arsenal red cards three, goals scored two.
Top performance by Costa.
