"I asked Rob Baan & Wim about situation in india. I thought it will be chalenging. Want to play 4-3-3 but formation will depend on the quality of players" - Eelco Schattorie
Rumors of discontent among star players from Prayag Camp, more on this to follow. Although I have some news, too early to disclose, need to double check.
Mangi turning out to be huge liability in defence.

I just hope the new coach can keep a check on this and the managemnet will back him..other wise a strong competitor to d I-league will disappoin once again..
seeing how PU have spent big money on establised I-league foreigners and also acquired overseas marquee signings, there will be jostling for positions /dominance between these individuals..maybe even forming 2 opposing camps in the team....PU have a good team of individuals but need to gel and win matches..its good to have them join the biggies for contention and not lose out due to infighting.
Elco
is very dissatisfied with Hernandez's fitness and seriously considering
starting with Vincent. This might well be the underlying reason of
Carlos deciding against extending his contract with Prayag, which he was
so willing to do that he happily announced it in a TV interview right after the MB game. This was my concern no sooner I was given the news of Carlos going back to Australia because Elco from his
mannerisms looked the typical tough coach more popular in the German
hinterland
Elco
has ordered repeat fitness test of all players. He is not satisfied
with the current fitness level of Prayag players and has seriously asked
Garcia to up the ante.
Elco
Schattorie has advised Ranti Martins that he fall back and help out in
defense and not just bide his time upfront after scoring goals.
Unimaginable that someone like Ranti, who falls back in midfield quite
often additionally asked to help out in defense as well. Wondering what
will happen if some coach advises Odafa likewise.
More fun awaits us, given the "chalta hai yaar" attitude so prevalent in Indian football.
Yea, the news came out in some of the bengali news channel yesterday. We need some tough talking/whipping headmasters especially amongst few of the kolkata teams. Thats so prevalent in EB for the last 2 years( TJM is an extremely hard taskmaster and doesn't take anything for granted and also have imbibed the same in his team) and hence EB is one of the fittest team currently in the I- League. Thats accountability. What is important is that the foreign coaches are far more accountable to their job/team than their Indian counterpart - thats something which our Indian coaches should learn, instead of bitching about the credibility of a foreign coach.I have also watched Elco's first press conference and on the very start day he said there are few things which he is very particular about, with fitness being the key and whosoever has an issue with fitness, would be dealt with accordingly.
I would say, with money pouring in the way it is(surely yes, otherwise Carlos Hernandez would't have come to India!), its absolutely right to have a professional culture. MB, I would say is the only team, lacks(amongst many things that is non existent)fitness culture! The club feels that a half fit Odafa can score goals at ease! See what happened with Tolgay - he is out the clutches of TJM and already limping! Same with Odafa - haven't seen him doing a pre season conditioning/training in the last 2 years - ever since he has joined MB. This is how Barretto used to mint money during the end of his career in MB, without doing the fitness drills - and now u see Barretto - he didn't go back to Brazil after the end of the last season(as he was out of MB and hence the club must not have sponsored his trip!!! ), and now that he is with a smaller team, he is doing the right things in terms of remaining fit.
I would say, the culture is so unprofessional in Kolkata, that few players are trying to take advantage of the situation, which they wouldn't be able to, had they played in Goa clubs, where things are much more structured.
@soccerlover... IMHO only the non indian ( especially European) coaches can demand this..i honestly do not see any indian having this kind of legitimate demand and still being around to coach. We still do not treat our Indian coaches with the respect you would give a similarly talented european coach.
Is it only because the the non-indian coaches have more sports/coaching pedigree that they are given a longer leash and authority to do things.. Or they know that they will get a job anywhere in the football world while a indian coach knows that it is unlikely he will get a coaching job outside d indian subcontinent?
To be honest, usually I would say bullshit but I believe this news for once. Its obvious why Hernandez came here... its the same reason guys like Henry and Beckham join MLS... "I am to old and wont make much money in A-League so why not I go to India and play at a much lower level where I dont need to try and make more money".
