Just speculating but is there something to do with voting for 2026 World Cup bids? Either USA or Morocco. Many west asian countries were going to vote for Morocco.
This new association will vote for USA.

Oman got left out of SWAFF due to helping qatar. Otherwise the federation would have looked even better. I am not including qatar here as without the qatar crisis this fed would not have become a reality
