I am impressed by never-say-die attitude of players: Vijayan
Former Indian football captain I.M.Vijayan today hailed the national team, which won the Nehru Cup international tournament, for their fearless display and “never-say-die attitude” against Cameroon in the summit clash here.
“I am really impressed by the never-say-die attitude of the players. They showed character and immense fighting spirit against a very good African side,” Vijayan, one of India’s greatest footballers, told PTI.
“The Cameroon players have the advantage physically but the Indians matched them in skill and ball passing. They also won the ball a lot from the opposition players. The young players were relentlessly running here and there all over the field. The new coach has done a great job,” he said.
Indian team switch over to different practice session: Hussain
"Our practice pattern is completely different now. It's always ball practice. That was the reason we could play some good passing game yesterday," Hussain said.
"We could stop their (Cameroon's) wing play. They had two dangerous wingers and it did the trick," he added.
This honor was bestowed upon Nabi because of his performance in the Nehru cup and he deserves it! So excited to see an Indian player make this list. Chetri makes the Substitutes list as well!!!
I think this was one of the best reads i have had so far..simple, yet clear giving the summary of both action and reaction.. as usual visuals of wing play helped a lot..
