Yes, Afghanistan will most likely be the lowest ranked side in the Nehru Cup. It will be very interesting to see how they compete against better opposition. The only reason they are invited is because of their surprising but outstanding performance in the recent Saff cup 2011, and it seems the recent scorelines against other nations have been pretty impressive for a side who got pumped by Maldives 9-1 only 2 years ago....

In regards to Pakistani football, I am not here to compare foreign player database between Afganistan and Pakistan and who would win if they were to play a friendly. I just thought that there are more foreign based Afghans then Pakistani's however if you know of more then i wish them all the best and hope they get called up to play for Pakistan. The more profressional players to play for lower nations, the better the nation will become..
For a war torn nation like Afghanistan, having a national football team is more then enough looking at there past of nothing but war.

Anyhow, main issue, is for Pakistan to be invited, if they win the Nehru Cup, or suffer heavy defeats its not important, but more so important that if they are invited then it will cause alot of excitment and hype with the great India-Pakistan rivalry.

I will be one of those that can buy it,my logic is use the event to launch revamped league

will it revamp? After fans watch India losing and playing shitty against those teams?
  • It will probably be the Brazil Under-19 and Portugal Under-19 sides and not the string ones. Just the best U19 players within there country because the Nehru Cup is not a FIFA event and the top players will not leave there clubs for the Nehru Cup.

Which are the teams from Europe you think might be in Nehru Cup? Pick 3 and state why. Here is my choice

1. Azerbaijan I am very confident about it that if they are invited, they will surely come as they have already played a friendly and are ranked at 110. But I doubt AIFF will invite them as they have big target it seems.

2. Ireland This is my dream. They are ranked 18 and are great! AIFF just might use the cricket connection to get them here. May be!
