Galolhu National Stadium in capital Malé has been inspected by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) inspection team visiting Maldives right now according to Haveeru News.
The high ranking AFC inspection team includes the AFC Deputy General Secretary, AFC Competitions Manager and AFC National Teams Competitions Manager.
The inspection team after arriving last Saturday (14th) has inspected the Galolhu National Stadium and training venues including Henveiru Pitch and Turf Pitch on Saturday and Sunday. The team inspected the Hithadhoo Zone Stadium in Addu City yesterday also.
The team is currently inspecting Paradise Island Resort, where the draw for the tournament will be held, before departing tonight. The team will presents its findings to the AFC Competitions Committee.
Maldives is due to host the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup in May, but was earlier warned by the AFC that the hosting rights could be transferred to the Philippines if the stadium renovation works does not start by the December 15th.
