1) Understands Indian Football very well, developed as many 30-35 young players during his stint with C.B,M.B & SSC.Further more we hardly have 2 months before the WCQ begin and we cannot afford get someone new who will find it difficult to gel with India & players in such a short period.
2) India is will play 95% of matches against Asian teams for that you need good experience in this continent and Karim has that too,his experience in South-East Asia and AFC Cup matches with M.B should help him.

As an interim Coach he is okay
1. He tries to play attacking football and leaves huge gaps in defence for a quick counter attack.
2. He has not enough international experience.
Do you really think he'll chose India over Bayern Leverkusen.
Why not? If offered lucrative amount, many coaches will like the challenge of managing a National Team rather than a club team.
For the amount of competitive matches India play throughout the year I doubt he'll be really interested.
