Luis Boa Morte and Pierre Boya were both linked with Mohun Bagan as marquees. Boa Morte used to play in the Premier League but now literally plays non-league football in England. Boya meanwhile is a former Cameroonian international (4 caps) who has played in places like Serbia, France, Austria, and Denmark and such and now plays in Albania. He is 30 years old now.
Ashutosh Mehta has decided to extend his stay with Mumbai FC for another year and has also become one of the latest Indian additions to the IMG-Reliance players’ pool.
According to this article Bengaluru FC have signed Josh Walker as their fourth foreigner. He is a 25-year old midfielder from England. He used to play for the England U20 side. Started his career in the Premier League for Middlesbourgh in 2005-06 and has 7 caps in total in the Premier League but has not played at that level since the 2007-08 season. He has since went to play in the Championship, League One, League Two, and the Scottish Premier League before playing in the Conference Premier League (Tier 5 of England) last season.
His Championship experience is also small but whatever, this is a good signing for Bengaluru FC. He was just in League One in the 2012-13 season as a regular and the Conference is arguably the same level, if not better, than I-League.
Captained England U20 at U20 World Cup and has played a few games in Premier league , FA Cup & in UEFA Cup...that's more that enough "marquee" ness for Indian Football...
people are in dreamland if you expect established Top European Division players to come to India.
or you take washed up legends like ISL.
or you end up with "Marquee" guys like a Eric Murunda who might have played some African Champions League...
just look how well John Johnson , Callum Angus and Darryl Duffy did last season...more of the same is enough..given all the issues with I-League this season
