@munna 219777 - I strongly feel someone in East Bengal is up to making cut money by getting this Cicero and certainly the name of his club Atletico de Juventus is getting misused for this purpose.

As far as CSR is concerned it is hilarious that you are comparing feeding of hungry kids and looking after AIDS patients  by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with running of highest level football clubs in India. In someway you are right; given the state of the game our footballers may really have to depend on charity (or CSR) to survive.

And that is why one needs to see the reality of the situation, it is not possible to make profit from football in India. It is only people with passion who do not have profit motive (or do not call it CSR) who will continue to invest in Indian football. And that is why we have clubs like East Bengal and Mohan Bagan surviving for 100 years and others like Prayag United and Mahindra United closing down. If a top level club has to survive on the charity of a single businessman or business group it is not going to last for long unless the business person has source of fund which is not strictly legal (e.g. ill gotten money from iron ore mining in Goa). The only other teams that survive in India are those with a fan following - some examples of these are EB, MB, MSC Vasco etc. - these clubs will see very bad times but will not close down in spite of the best attempts of AIFF.

@indranuj ; I am not saying that CSR is bad. I am also not saying that clubs like Mohun bagan, East Bengal or Shillong Lajong are there due to CSR tax saving measures. In Business there is loss and profit and big football clubs from Europe have suffered from Financial losses. I was saying that charity is earned back by businessman as tax refund. Say a club like Dempo spend 10 crores, they will get lot of  it back as tax refund.

Whole concept of IMG-Reliance ISL league is a CSR product if you can scroll it down.

It is debatable whether this model is helpful for Indian Football or not.
Hype without substance. Messi is coming, Beckham is coming?? That is the problem.

Look at the notable former players of the club. They may play in lower division, but the player isn't random brother. At least better than child and craps who played street division of no-man's land premier league
