I just want to say that if I-League is disbanded then the India national team is also disbanded and we would be banned from playing games because we would only have 1-2 players playing in FIFA affiliated leagues (Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and perhaps Subrata Pal). The Indian Super League is not a FIFA league which means that players in the league cannot play for the India national team or any national team for that matter. The I-League is needed to keep the national team alive... for now.

This isn't true @ArsenalFan700..Not every country has a professional league..even if they had amateur tournaments doesn't matter...National team cant be disbanded on the pretext of professional league

Well it goes like FIFA ---AFC---AIFF and AIFF has to ensure that being a member of FIFA, all laws of FIFA and AFC are followed. A private entity IMG-Reliance organising a franchise based private league bypassing FIFA rules and regulations will result in India ceasing to be a member of FIFA. Read this document-especially page 13,14.

The leagues does not need to be professional in order to be eligible for the national team... never said anything like that. The league literally just needs sanctioning by the country FA and FIFA... ISL has none. The Afghan Premier League does... even the bloody New Caledonia league has sanctioning.

@ashindia: Did I start fighting?? Did I say anything about your comments?? Did I say anything about you in the first place. As far as I know, the answer is NO. A big NO. You were the one who passed comment onto me. I always reply to comments with respect. Never target someone personally. It clearly seems that you lack sense of dignity in you.

As for the dislikes, LOL. Is this a competition?? Who gets the maximum no, of likes and as the maximum no, of points. I have always commented what I think irrespective of my previous comments. Whether they were disliked or not. I don;t care.

PS: Please don't reply on this anymore. I don't want to get into this. If you don't like it. Please just move on. It is not compulsory to reply to my comments.

ISL has been sanctioned by both AIFF and FIFA. So no problems on that front

Has it? What tier is it then?

  • @namewtheld ; FIFA sanctioned ISL? I didnt read about it then. What I was told was that they consider ISL to be a private internal matter of India out of their boundary and they will interfere only when it criss-cross with I-League which is their sanctioned league.
