Northeast is ripe for a northeast premier league. The states are too small to have separate leagues on their own.

atuljg No. if goa can have a quality league with lower divisions "the smallest state in India" then surely North east states can have individual leagues.

But isn't Goa economically far superior to the northeast States. The clubs do require to generate money to produce quality football.

state can still run a Semi-Pro league if clubs have financial Problems.

Kolkata isnt a rich city but have a full 5 division league system in place since decades. NE league will create unwanted financial demands on these clubs.

Kolkatta is a 150 Billion $ City behind only Mumbai and Delhi. You can't call Kolkatta poor and if it appears so, it's only due to misgovernance.

Even 70% of these clubs were established by British. They never looked beyond CFL. Most of them are athletic clubs, don't have any significant impact on development of football in West Bengal.Can't compare with NE league.
